The Factory is restaurant with bar located in Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal. As the name suggests, the restaurant is factory themed. The interior is done with the raw looking metal and wood materials. The lighting is warm and comfortable.
Creating the website for the restaurant was exciting as it has one of the unique features and theme. The client wanted the feel of the website to be same as the physical restaurant.
Here are the few snaps of the restaurant environment and the stuffs used there.
After study I sketched some the objects used in the restaurant. Also I sketched home pages and the banner.
Sketching is important in any design process because it’s fast and helps save time to make changes. In some projects we approve the artwork by only showing the sketch to the client.
Following are the first sketches before starting work on pc.
I used Autodesk 3Ds Max to create objects, placed them like in sketches and rendered them. Some are rendered using default Scanline and few with Mental Ray. Every object was rendered separately and lights did not play huge role at the moment. Lights are given after all rendered objects are placed in the Photoshop.
Finally in Photoshop, I added shadows, highlights, lightings and texts & stuffs.
My client was satisfied with the outcome. After template was finished, it was given to the programmer for further work.
